Venue and variant badge
Venue and variant badge
In the live page top bar, next to your profile and admin buttons, you can see a small badge with a location pin icon. It looks like this:
Venue name · Variant name
For example: Zénith · Main PA or Halle de la Foire · Festival.
What it shows
This badge answers two questions: where are we ? and which setup are we using ?
- Venue name = the room, hall, stage or site where the show happens. It comes from the planning entry you selected.
- Variant name = the technical configuration of that venue for this show. A venue can have several configurations (main PA, rehearsal, alternate stage plan, etc.).
Why it matters
It is a safety check. Before launching the show, everyone can see in one glance:
- the room currently loaded;
- the technical setup linked to that room.
The stage plot, equipment list and default schedule are attached to that venue and variant. If you load the wrong one, the wrong technical data comes with it.
Legacy and TBD
If you see Legacy or TBD, it only means the venue or the variant has not yet been renamed with a real production name. These words are temporary placeholders.
They appear because the schedule entry was created with a default venue or a default variant. They are not a status, not a bug, and not a warning.
How to change it
You cannot edit the badge directly from the live page. To update it:
- Go to the project Preparation page.
- Open the Administrative or Technical tab.
- Update the venue name and the variant name with real values.
The badge will then show the correct venue and variant the next time you load the session.
FAQ
I see a different badge than my colleague. Why ?
You probably loaded different sessions, or different variants of the same project. The badge always reflects the session loaded on your own station.
Does this badge affect the master clock ?
No. The clock is independent. The badge only shows the physical and technical context of the loaded session.
Can I hide it ?
No. It is always displayed when a session is loaded, so the operator knows which venue and variant are active.
