Undo and redo (Ctrl+Z)

What this feature is for

Step back after a mistake: a deletion, a move on the site plan, a time change or an auto-saved field.

Where to find it

Everywhere in preparation: Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac) undoes, Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redoes.

Covered actions: venue plans and locations, planning and run of show, Showtime (editing, deleting and moving lines and cues), documents and annotations, contracts, collaborators and staff, equipment and phase needs, budget (lines, payments, performances), hours, payroll adjustments, artist parties, show details, zones and zone types, displays, crew logistics, document folders, contract templates, My base lists and job functions. Sends (emails, invitations), signatures and GO remain final.

Steps

  1. Click outside any text field (inside a field, Ctrl+Z only undoes your typing).
  2. Press Ctrl+Z: a message confirms what was undone.
  3. Press again to go further back (up to 50 actions), or Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo.

What happens next

The item is restored with all its data (documents, contracts, collaborators, artists, categories, planning events, venues, stages, run-of-show rows, site plan shapes). A deleted document can be recovered for 10 minutes.

Who can take action

Everyone undoes their own actions, within their usual rights.

Common issues

  • "Cannot undo": someone changed the item in the meantime; nothing is overwritten.
  • Nothing happens in the live console: by design, no undo is possible during the show.
  • Empty history: it is per show, cleared when switching show, entering the live console, or reloading the page.

FAQ

  • Can I undo an email, an invitation, a signature or a GO? No, those actions are final.
