Live Console: running order, playlist, and GO
Live Console: running order, playlist, and GO
What this feature is for
The live console is used to follow and lead the show in real time: the running order describes the global sequence, the playlist describes the artist's content, and the GO launches each element at the chosen moment.
Where to find it
From the loaded event, open the live page. Prepare the running order and playlist beforehand in Preparation → Timing → Showtime.
Steps
- Load the correct session (day, stage, venue) and check the venue and variant badge displayed at the top. The displayed day is the one selected in Showtime: switching day tabs in Showtime instantly updates the console's running order and playlist, with no page reload.
- Browse the running order: add, duplicate, insert before, delete, or reorder a cue by drag-and-drop, depending on your rights.
- Add the artist's elements to the playlist: track, break, solo, spoken intervention.
- Give the GO at the desired moment; the completed element gives way to the next one, which is always visible at the top.
- Control the reference clock: the master machine provides the time, other stations follow it, so that everyone reads the same show time.
- Read the sound level directly from the enlarged dB display at the top of the console. Its colour follows the project's thresholds; select it to view the precise value, 15-minute LAeq, peak, history, and source.
The browser microphone provides a non-metrological indication. Use a suitable calibrated external sound level meter for regulatory monitoring; enlarging the display does not change the nature of the measurement.
Regulatory sound monitoring
From the sound level window (Open regulatory sound monitoring button) or from Preparation → Sound monitoring, a dedicated view brings together:
- the venue's limits, chosen from its country (country set on the location, otherwise derived from its coordinates): validated country pack, otherwise known regulation, otherwise French limits flagged "to be confirmed". In France: 102 dB(A) and 118 dB(C) over 15 minutes, 94 dB(A) and 104 dB(C) for an audience under 6 (dedicated checkbox);
- instant, LAeq 15 min, LCeq 15 min and peak displays, coloured for warning then exceedance;
- the curve over 15 min, 1 h or the full day with limits drawn, and the 15-minute slot table linked to the scheduled artist;
- CSV export of all readings and the PDF report to keep (6 months in France).
Select Record history on one device per location only: readings are sent every 10 seconds. The external meter always takes priority; the browser microphone is only a backup and stays flagged as indicative in the view and the report. A country's limits are set by the administrator in Country packs → Sound levels.
What happens next
Passages are timestamped and shared with read-only screens. The displayed durations help with monitoring; they never replace human decision-making.
Who can take action
The event administrator and individuals with show control permission. Others follow without being able to trigger.
Common issues
- The GO is unavailable: Show control permission is missing.
- Stations do not display the same time: Check which machine is the clock master.
- A line does not move: Drag-and-drop depends on your rights for the event.
- The dB display shows a dash: Select it, then allow or restart the microphone. The label below the value indicates whether metering is inactive, denied, or unavailable.
FAQ
What does GO mean?
It is the manual action that launches a cue or a track at the chosen moment.
Does drag-and-drop change the actual order?
